Vestibular Migraine - Diagnosis and Epidemiology
Sohn Jong-Hee

Abstract
Vestibular migraine (VM), the common term for recurrent vestibular symptoms with migraine features. Although it is estimated that up to 1% of the population suffers from this disease, it is still widely unknown and underdiagnosed. Recently, VM accepted in the appendix criteria of the third, beta edition of the International Classification of Headache Disorders (ICHD-3¥â). The diagnosis is based on symptom type, severity and duration, a history of migraine, temporal association of migraine symptoms with vertigo attacks, and exclusion of other causes. This review summarizes current
knowledge on vestibular migraine with regard to diagnosis and epidemiology.
